April Showers
This month has been busy with all kinds of stuff. And somewhere in there, I turned 30!
Thinkpad? How 'bout Thunked and Rocked Pad
After receiving my refund for the used Thinkpad T40 from eBay, I sold two airsoft guns and turned that money around to buy a Factory Refurbished T41 for use at home. The laptop is very nice and to be honest, had the sound worked on the T40, I would still have it. The new one is almost identical to the older one, except this one did not have the wiring for the internal wireless card.
That doesn't matter much to me, because I already have a PCMCIA wifi card. I also don't use wireless as much at home. I don't like leaving an open door to my already shaky internet connection. But it is handy when the wife and kids have the TV and computers occupied. I can also use the DVD player to watch movies, so it works out quite well.
Airsoft Game on April 27th
This game looked really cool, but I was out of action with a twisted ankle from the day before. I went out to the field with Jason and Judy to help prepare for the game. As I was carry a large box, I slipped on one of the "potholes" on the concrete garage ramp and was greeted by a lovely sharp pain. Fun. I stayed off my feet as best I could the rest of the day, and by the evening, I could walk a little better, but still with quite a bit of pain.
I soaked in the bathtub when I got back and then got to bed. The next day, my ankle was stiff, with just a hint of pain when I tried to walk. So I stayed at the barn and helped organize and clean while the game went on. That's too bad, I had my G36k out and was doing the fine tuning to the hop. The gun was shooting wonderfully!
Interweb problems :(
Charter is still having intermittent connection problems. I don't know what else to do at this point. I took an afternoon off to try to get this resolved, and the guy never showed up. Then Kris finds out the guy left two voice mails on our phone. But I don't remember the phone ever ringing. Stupid interwebs!
Right now, we have a 5MB cable connection that works on and off. its incredibly frustrating. And I've found out several other Charter customers are having problems with their service. I believe there is something wrong at the EC Charter office, because Charter Tech Support seems to be having problems trying to establish a connection, too.
I'll let you guys know what happens when I have time to post. Take care.
