Mistakes that Poor People Make

In this world of increasing gas prices, decreasing home values, and increasingly sophisticated coverage of pitiful Hollywood stars' miserable attempts at proving they have a personality that is actually worthy of new coverage... Well, it is clearly poor people who are to blame for all of it. As they are to blame, here are some of the Mistakes Poor People make.

According to Liz Pullmy Weston, a self-deluded financial consultant whose daily rantings are posted on MSN, there are just 7 mistakes. So they are at least a few up on Hollywood.

Getting the Big Stuff Wrong:
Goddammit, I told you not to do that and you did it anyway. Poor people get the Big Stuff wrong. Importance in life is not having stuff, or Big Stuff, but having a sense of awesomeness because you have Big Awesome Stuff. Idiots.

Focusing on that Power boat, or in the case of Poor people, a box of cereal to feed you kids, is not "getting it." Why worry about your next meal, when you should focus on intelligent spending plans as advised by a person who has clearly never been poor in her life, but is well-qualified to tell poor people what they are doing wrong.

Confusing Needs and Wants:
I know poor people are confused as to whether they want a Rolex or a warm place to sleep at night. Chances are, a warm place to sleep will not get you mugged by a fellow poor person. On the other hand, you could always choose to squat.

What Poor People Want is to not be poor. What Poor People Need is a way to make more money. Clearly poor people get things wrong because they don't read Liz's expectations of them. Nice. The "Let them Eat Cake" approach has done well in the past. May it server you as well as the previous woman who used it.

Considering only the Monthly Payments:
Let's face it. Poor people are all about making wrong choices. This must be why they are poor. It has nothing to do with low paying jobs, lack of jobs, or lack of needed job skills. Its all because they made bad decisions. That is, of course, assuming they had the opportunity in life to make those bad decisions.

When you are stuck on a fixed income, there isn't anything else you can consider aside from monthly payments. And after the bills are paid, you have that tiny amount left over for extras that make your life bearable.

Yeah, that money should be stuck into mutual funds. Then some day, if the company you invested in stays afloat or it isn't taken by management, you might actually have more money. Nice advice douchebag.

Carrying Credit Card Debt:
Assuming you make enough to get a credit card, poor people should not carry debt. So, every poor person should immediately file for bankruptcy to remove their credit card debt. This should be done as soon as possible.

The average Poor Person has at least five maxed out credit cards. And since there will be far more poor people in the next few years, they might as well make bankruptcy law firms profitable.

Failing to Track Where the Money Goes:
Most poor people know where the money goes into the wallet and out to bill collectors. This is a Mistake. Poor People should follow the trail of money and find out where the money goes after it leaves their hand.

Apparently knowing your last paycheck was spent on bills, leaving you with enough money for a Value Meal and two weeks of groceries is not enough.

Living Close to the Edge:

Poor People apparently live life ont he Edge. They are always pulling their crazy antics. Yes, Poor People live life to the fullest and their lives are full of excitement!

Squandering What you Have:
Waste not, Want not. What a crock of shit. Poor People piss away all of their chances in life. So now they will further piss on their chances to become less poor by failing to take advice.

Like I said, her atrticle is ostly a tale of how Poor People are ignorant and contribute to their own poorness.
