Mayday and payday
The month of April has finally ended; and with it, the tyrannical ranting of a sublimely crazy person. Well, not exactly. April saw the last of winter weather, my 30th birthday, and several other things, none of which are worthy of narration.
Airsoft News:
May 4th Airsoft Game - Anger Management
We had a small game on Sunday with a few players showing up. Judy stayed home for this one, as she was still doing work for the business. Logan (Biscuit-Boy) celebrated his 14th birthday by bringing out cookies and his guitar. We then had a few small skirmishes, but were mostly done by 5. The field is still dead with fall colors, but I decided to again wear Tigerstripe with black gear. No pictures were taken...again. :(
G36k amd G36e developments
I received the AIMPOINT scope I had ordered from HK. At this point, the "K" is mostly finished. I have a few minor items remaining and some internal parts to install. I also need to pick up some new mags - midcaps, preferably. The gun really rails the shots out there, though.
The "e" was not as lucky. I had bought a damaged JG G36 off a guy. My plan was to build my G36e from that. I began sourcing parts to replace a damaged hop and mag well. Then a new player PMed me asking if I had any used gun I could sell him. I kinda told him I didn't but then thought about the damaged gun I'd bought. I told him there were parts that had to be replaced, but that it was an otherwise functional gun. He ordered the replacement parts and I reassembled the gun for him and sold it to him.
Jason has a few new ones in stock that he said were difficult to get due to demand for them. I will likely buy a new one and toss the G36e parts on it. Which would take all of about 5 minutes.
Airsoft gear loadout
I have decided to shelve the STRIKE loadout as it is really bulky. I am looking at moving to the UTG Load Bearing vest in OD and maybe TAN. This gives me roughly the same loadout capacity, but in a lighter form factor. I am still doing research on where to find them, but my impression of the sample Jason had is quite favorable. The item is very well stitched - double and triple in some areas. And the rig can be resized quite well for height and girth. I was impressed by the quality, and the price was not bad either.
Other News:
Not really much else to report. Weather has been pretty nice the last few days. We have a large game coming towards the end of the month. Work has been steady with the added wireless areas - we're up to 50 customers on the system now! More news to come, stay tuned!
