Cry Some More!

Lucky Harms are Tragically Malicious

It's been nearly a month since my last post. I have been busy on multiple fronts in the last month, but here's what's been going on. I hosted another Airsoft game at ABZ:Fairchild called Operation: Excessive Overkill. Andrea had her 15th birthday. Jacob is trying to get onto the 6th grade football team. Miley. Discover-net released its wireless product. I bought another AEG for my collection. Yeah, I'm just thrilled to death.

Halo: Combat "Involved" for the PC
I picked up a copy of this with my last paycheck. Jacob and I had been playing the demo for a while and I decided to pony up the $20 to buy it. He is working to get his own copy as I did not want to install it on the other two machines. He hasn't gotten to play it yet, but I have already beaten the game twice and while I enjoyed it, I found the plot twist to be somewhat interesting.

They could have turned the entire game up on its ear if they had changed the story to be that the Covenant had known about "the Flood" and were simply trying to prevent the humans from releasing it. That would have been a huge shocker. Prolly not, though.

The game, itself has some interesting multiplayer potential with the vehicle combat systems. I plan to host my own Vehicle Combat CTF server. Despite only having 16 players, you could have quite an effective war going on in a large map. I especially enjoy doing the "Anti-Tank" missions in the Banshee.

Tis game runs very well on my system, but was really dragging at first. The spec read 733MHz, and 32MB GFX card or better. My system is 2.4GHz with a 256MB GFX card - 3 times the proc and 8 times the GFX, yet it still ran dodgie on single player at 1072x726 resolution. I knocked it down to 800x600 and that got it.

I have been trying to get a hold of Ben to set up a game, but I think his computer is down again. He was going to get a new one, but didn't know when that would be. In the mean time, I will be hosting Vehicle Combat CTF - Death Island on the Halo PC Server. If you are interested in jumping on, fire me off an email. Sat and SUn will prolly be the most common time its running, but I can schedule another time if needed.
