5th Anniversary Coming up!

On Wednesday, August 5th, Kris and I will celebrate our 5th Wedding Anniversary. This also coincides with the unveiling of the new Willsroom layout, the completion of the home network, and the planning of a weekend roadtrip to go to the nearest Sonic. Andrea has returned from her Lutheran Camp, Jacob is still staying at his dad's house, and I got a new laptop!

5th Wedding Anniversary -- August 8th
Kris and I have plans to enjoy a quiet dinner together. We will likely go to El Patio or Cicione's to celebrate. We were married on a Thursday in front of a Lawyer's office in Chippewa Falls. We had our Wedding Meal at Olson's Ice Cream shop with Kris' parents, the kids, and her sister, Nancy. Afterwards, I had to work the Thursday evening shift at the Newspaper.

We did some celebrating on Friday evening, when I took Kris to Texas Roadhouse for a "Big juicy steak." The food was very good and Kris loved her steak. Saturday, she treated Annie and I to a burger at Famous Dave's BBQ. I usually make a point to take Kris out to dinner once a paycheck as we don't normally have alot of time to spend with each other during the week.

Five years is an important first milestone with any marriage. It represents the first five years you get to know each other and decide which of the other's traits drive you the most batty. I'd have to keep those a secret for now. :)

Computer/Networking:
This last week, I was given a fun job of taking a few laptops and cleaning them up. My boss, Tom, had acquired some Compaq Notebooks from his previous job and had decided to put them to use. This was done by cleaning them out, wiping the hard drive, and reinstalling Windows 2000 and drivers on them. Tom gave me one of them for helping out.

The new machine is a Compaq Evo N600c -- 1.2 GHZ P3, w 512 MB of RAM. The system has a 30GB HD and a 32 MB ATI Radeon GFX card. Interestingly enough, it was exactly what I was looking for. The machine works wonderfully - especially running W2K Pro.

This pretty much wraps up the Home network, machine wise. I can now upgrade the Thinkpad and assign it permanent Net Admin duty.

Right now I have three items left to complete the network project. New GFX card from Foxconn, Infernal, and Annie's computer. Then I have to purchase a Wifi AP. THen it will be complete. Estimated remaining costs are just under $200. Woohoo!

Blockbusters! They are the movies that do so good that the people who make them are happy they made them because plenty of families go to see them, and they spend their money at the movies.
