Should I Use Google Ads?

I have been debating the use of a few Ad programs on my site. AdSense and Google Ads can generate some revenue. But it also means scumming up my sight with Ads. What do you think?

Spring is Finally Here?

It's been a rough two weeks since my last post. Wisconsin got some major snow, which buried us under about 3-4 feet of snow. The weather has warmed up, melting most of it and promising some enjoyable spring weather. The Eau Claire area plans to host some spring airsoft games. Kris had a return trip to the hospital. The kids' grades have improved. And we prepare for the great "raking of the backyard."

SNOW!
About a week ago, we got the crap beat out of us by a huge Arctic storm which dumped several inches of snow each time. I spent most of that first weekend shoveling the driveway so that we could get out to the street. Jacob and I shoveled and brushed. We also got the snowblower out and into the fray. Later in the evening, we'd get more and have to repeat the process.

SPRING UN-THAWING
During this time we did get a few spots of warm weather, that only melted things enough to make them freeze back over when the temperature dropped. We also got freezing rain, ice storms, as every variant of "snow" you can imagine.

One moment, we would get large feathery patches falling from the sky. Others, we would be bombarded with tiny ice pellets that stung when they hit. My favorite was the "lazy snow" that just seemed to fall in gobs. It all added up to me having to scrape the windshield before going anywhere. I also had the pleasure of running around town in the crap. FUN!

MELTING IN A WINTERED WONDERLAND
Following the lovely spring UN-thaw, we finally began to see warm weather return. The last week, we have had weather poking up from 20-50 degrees. Its even warm at night. This warm weather has come with its price of one flooded corner of the basement. But a little mess is a worthy price to pay for warmer weather.

April 14th Game
Yeah, I got a kick out of that. That was the first open weekend we could toss a game together. Unfortunately, it also coincides with the yearly WAA meeting. Its not like I would really miss much anyway. I'd take one yearly game over ten meetings. At the same time, I have about a month to get my junk for this game. This year, I have several new pieces to take to the field. I'm sure it will be great, as always.

Kris' Return to the Hospital
Luther Middlefort sure knows how to put the "Spital" into "Hospital." Kris returned because she had had chest pains and was told to come in immediately. The ER staff, specifically "Larry" worked extremely well to get things under control for her. But the CCU staff were total losers.

Kris had to call me at home, in complete agony, because the CCU nurses were being total assholes to her. She was crying and totally freaking out because her head hurt, she was all alone, and was scared. Their answer to all this was "the medication she's on makes her weepy." BULLSHIT.

One of the nurses came into her room and asked her "what are you bawlin' about?" She was a big ugly nurse who looked as if she had just recovered from gender-change surgery. That woman fell out of the ugly tree, hit every ugly branch on the way down, landed in a huge pile of ugly mud, washed off with concentrated ugly water, and dried off with the ugly towel. She looked like a gorilla with boobs or more closely resembed "Darla Hooch" from "A League of Their Own."

As soon as Kris called me, I got over there and decided I would stay with her the rest of the day. There was no reason for a person recovering from heart surgery to be treated that way and I will make a point to voice those complaints as soon as we receive the questionnaires in the mail. It seems all of the hospital staff were complete idiots this time around almost exactly the opposite from her previous stay.

On a positive note, Kris has healed remarkably well and is in high spirits. We just need to work on the eating healthy and "quit smoking" areas, which she has been trying very hard to do. She is also in Cardiac Rehab, so we hope she can continue to do well.

The Great "My Raking" of the Yard
Simply put, once the ground firms up after the snow is gone, we will need to rake and shovel the yard. Its a big mess from several contributing factors - dog, stupid lava rocks, and miscellaneous trash. I'm sure the kids will be thrilled we have to do it. I know I am, considering they were supposed to clean much of it up before the snow.
